On Thursday morning, May 21, 2026, members of Kennett VFW Post 5443 and American Legion Post 66 joined together with volunteers from FCC and Legacy Hospice at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett to place American flags on the graves of veterans.

This annual act of remembrance helps ensure that the men and women who served our nation are honored during the Memorial Day season. Each flag placed represents a life of service, sacrifice, and commitment to the United States.

While at the cemetery, volunteers also raised a new American flag at the center of Oak Ridge Cemetery. The new flag now stands as a visible reminder of the service and sacrifice of all veterans laid to rest there.

Kennett VFW Post 5443 would like to thank American Legion Post 66, FCC, Legacy Hospice, and all volunteers who gave their time to help honor our local veterans. Their efforts reflect the continued commitment of our community to remember those who served and to preserve the meaning of Memorial Day.

As Memorial Day approaches, we encourage everyone to take time to visit a cemetery, pause at a veteran’s grave, and remember the men and women who gave so much in service to our country.
